Harry M. Phillips, Jr., age 64, of Lancaster, formerly of Canal Winchester, died suddenly Monday, November 27, 2006, following a day of deer hunting in southern Ohio near Jackson. He was retired from State Auto Insurance after 42 years of service, a 30 year member of Lithopolis United Methodist Church, and a graduate of Mifflin High School. Harry is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Charlotte Boggess Phillips; children, Scott (Kelly) Phillips of Canal Winchester, twins, Denise (Price) Phillips of Dayton, OH and Mark (Bobbi) Phillips of Hanover, OH.; grandchildren, Scotty, Kaylee, and Ryanne Phillips; his father, Harry M. (Winnie) Phillips, Sr. of Jackson, OH; mother-in-law, Lillian Slain of Columbus; brothers-in-law, Steve (Linda) Boggess, Keifer (Cheryl) Boggess; many nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother Helen King Phillips, father-in-law Herman Slain, and his sister-in-law Peggy Boggess. Preceded in death by parents Mary Shortland nee Urdock and William Shortland Sr., brothers Edward Shortland and Michael Shortland. Survived by wife of 46 years, Dixie Shortland nee Smith; children, Jody (Dallas) Deed, Chad Shortland, Natalie Shortland and Adam Shortland; grandchildren, Marcus, Matthew, Nikolas and Victoria; sister, Mary Alice (John) Garrabrant; brothers, William Shortland Jr., Robert (Linda) Shortland and Jerry (Marsha) Shortland; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, George (Sally) Serio, Doug (Sheila) Conley, Allen (Joy) Smith and Louie Smith; several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Sharon Lee Morin, age 64, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2006 after a courageous battle with Cancer. Sharon was a dedicated Nurse, employed with Columbus Colony Elderly Care. Preceded in death by her mother Mary E. Morin. Survived by her father James "Art" Morin; sister Shirley Blair; brothers James A. (Margie) Morin and John (Kathy) Morin; 11 nieces and nephews; eight great-nieces and nephews; caregivers Darla (Gene) Probst; many special friends. A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 2, 2006 at Pataskala Church of the Nazarene, 8100 Hazelton-Etna Rd., SW, Pataskala, Ohio 43062 where family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. BOLIN
BOLIN Colonel (Ret.) Daniel H. Bolin, 58,
of Georgetown, Tex., formerly of Columbus,
passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2000 at
his residence. He was born March 11, 1942
in Columbus, the son of Kathleen Gerber
Bolin Higgins of Logan and the late William
Bolin. He married Sandra Buckley on September
27, 1964 in Columbus and soon began a long
career of service to his country in the U.S.
Army. He attended college at The Ohio State
University where he received his B.A. and
did graduate work at John Jay College, New
York City, New York, in criminal justice.
Colonel Bolin retired in 1992 from the Army
after almost 28 years of service. He had
served with the military police in the Army
and received many commendations including
the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit
Citation, Bronze Star, Army Achievement Medal,
Presidential Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit
Commendation, Humanitarian Service Medal,
Armed Forces Expeditionary Campaign Medal.
Since retiring he was active in both the
Retired Officers Association and was also an
active member in the American Brittany Club.
He enjoyed raising Brittanys and also traveled
and spent much time showing his dogs for the
last 10 years. Since military retirement he
was working with Favorite Consultants of
Baltimore, Md. as a computer instructor to
the blind. He leaves his wife of over 36
years, Sandra Bolin of Georgetown, Tex.;
daughter, Kathryn Bolin and husband, Jose
Garcia of Killeen, Tex.; 2 granddaughters,
Lauren Elliott of Killeen, Tex. and Kasmir
D'eredte and husband, Ken of Eastover, S.C.;
great-granddaughter, Annabelle Elliott of
Killeen, Tex. He is also survived by his mother,
Kathleen of Logan; sister, Sheila Rebertus and
husband, Douglas of Logan; brother, Stephen
Higgins of Mt. Gilead, Oh. Preceding him in
death were his father, a son Brian Bolin and
his step-father Richard Higgins.
